The NHL has named its three stars of the week

Why It Matters

The first star is Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin had eight point in four games three of which the Capitals won which lifted the Capitals into the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. The second star is Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews. Matthews had 10 points in four games two of which the Leafs won to lift the Leafs into third place in the Atlantic Division. The third star is Edmonton Oilers centre Connor McDavid. McDavid had 11 points in four games two of which the Oilers won.
