The NHL has named its three stars of the week

Why It Matters

The first star is Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar. Makar had eight points in four games to get the Avalanche into third place in the Central Division with a 3-1-0 week. The second star is Toronto Maple Leafs winger William Nylander. Nylander had seven points in three games two of which the Leafs won. The third star is Montreal Canadiens winger Patrik Laine. Laine had five goals all on the Power Play in three games all of which the Habs won.
