The Kansas City Chiefs have made kicker Harrison Butker the NFL’s highest paid kicker

Why It Matters

The Chiefs have signed Butker to a four year contract extension of 25.6 million dollars in total with 17.75 million dollars in guaranteed money. The 6.4 million dollars for each year makes Butker the NFL’s highest paid kicker. The contract keeps Butker in Kansas City through the 2024-25 season. Butker’s highlights include kicking the tying field goal in the Super Bowl to get the Chiefs into overtime, as well as the winning field goals in the preceding Super Bowl and in the AFC championship game the week before. Last season Butker made 33 out of 35 field goals for a percentage of 94.3% as well as all six of his field goals from 50 yards and beyond.
