The Miami Heat have signed Head Coach Erik Spoelstra to an eight year contract extension
Why It Matters
Spoelstra has won two NBA championships and been to the NBA Finals six different times during his tenure as Head Coach of the Miami Heat. The Heat are currently tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Spoelstra’s entire coaching career in the NBA including before his time as Head Coach has been with the Heat starting as a video coordinator and working his way up to the Head Coach job.
