The NHL has named it’s three stars of the week

Why It Matters

The first start is Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon. MacKinnon extended the NHL longest active point streak to 15 games since November 20 with multiple points in all four of his games as his 10 points got the Avalanche to a 3-1 week. The second star is Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko. Demko denied 89 of the 93 shots that he faced as the Canucks went 3-0-1 in Demko’s starts. One of those wins was a shutout against the Florida Panthers on December 14. The third star is New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson. Dobson had eight assists in four games as the Islanders went 2-1-1 during the week.
