The NHL has named its three stars of the month

Why It Matters

The first star is Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews. Matthews had 20 points in 12 games to help get the Leafs into third place in the Atlantic Division. The second star is Edmonton Oilers centre Connor McDavid. McDavid had 27 points in 12 games to help get the Oilers to within a point of second place in the Pacific Division. The third star is New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin. Shesterkin had seven wins in seven games to get the Rangers to within a point of the President’s trophy for having the most points during the regular season.
