The Seattle Seahawks have hired Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald as their Head Coach

Why It Matters

MacDonald was among the top candidates for the Seahawks after they fired Pete Carroll that they were willing to wait until after the Super Bowl in the event that the Ravens made it that far. Because of the Ravens loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game the Seahawks could hire MacDonald 11 days before the Super Bowl. MacDonald is now the youngest NFL Head Coach at the age of 36.
