The Washington Capitals have signed goalie Logan Thompson to a six year contract extension

Why It Matters

Thompson is in his first year with the Capitals after they got him in a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights in June. Thompson is 22-2-3 with a .925 save percentage and two shutouts as the Capitals are in first place in the entire NHL. In his time with the Golden Knights and Capitals Thompson is is 78-34-14 with a .915 save percentage and six shutouts in 130 regular season games.
