Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes has won the Norris Trophy as the NHL’s top defenseman

Why It Matters

Hughes is the first Vancouver Canucks Defenseman to win the award. Hughes lead NHL defensemen with a career high 92 points in 82 games. Hughes 54 even strength points were the most among defensemen as well. Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi and Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar were the other finalists. the 2023 Norris Trophy winner was San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson who now plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
