Jon Abbott has been named as the new play by play man for the Calgary Flames

Sportsnet had announced Monday that Abott would be the new play by play man for the Flames. Abbott will team up with colour commentators Kelly Hrudey and Greg Miller in the booth while host Ryan Leslie will give updates from ice level. Abbot’s existing body of work in hockey play by play includes the NHL, CHL in Major Junior hockey, AHL, World Junior tournament, World Championships and Olympics. In the NHL Abbott has done regional play by play for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators.
