The Montreal Canadiens have signed centre Jake Evans to a four year contract extension

Why It Matters

Evans was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Canada Day. Evans has 28 points in 68 games this season which is a point back of his career high 29 points in 72 games in 2022. Evans who was drafted by the Habs in the seventh round in 2014 has 120 points in 329 regular season games to this point in his career and three points in thirteen playoff games. The Habs are on a five game winning streak and are a point behind the Detroit Red Wings for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
