The Philadelphia Eagles have made running back Saquon Barkley the NFL’s top paid running back

The Eagles signed Barkley to a two year 41.2 million dollar contract extension that makes him the highest paid running back in NFL history. The contract which includes 36 million dollars in guaranteed money makes Barkley the NFL’s first running back to get greater than 20 million dollars a year. Barkley could earn an extra 15 million dollars through incentive and escalator clauses. Barkley ran for 2,504 yards in the regular season and playoff as the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.
