The New Orleans Saints have hired Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their next Head Coach

Why It Matters

This transaction was consummated upon the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. The 36 year old Moore has become a Head Coach after one year as the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia. Moore was the Eagles third offensive coordinator in three years after Shane Steichen had left to become the Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts and Brian Johnson was fired. The Saints were not permitted to hire Moore until after the Super Bowl. Moore has passed Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Mike McDonald as the youngest Head Coach in the NFL being just 36 years of age.
