The Detroit Lions have elected wide receiver Calvin Johnson into Pride of the Lions

Johnson will be honoured at halftime of the Lions Monday Night Game against the Seattle Seahawks on September 30. Lions Chief Operating Officer Mike Disner informed Johnson of the honour at his charity golf tournament. Johnson who went into the Hall Of Fame in 2021 holds the franchise record for catches with 731, receiving yards with 11,619 and touchdown catches with 83. Johnson was elected to six pro bowls as well as being named a first team all pro three times in his nine year career in the NFL all in Detroit. Johnson’s career high receiving yards of 1,964 in 2012 is the highest in a single season in the NFL.
