The Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes have pledged donations to storm victims

Why It Matters

The Hurricanes ticket revenue from their preseason game against the Nashville Predators will benefit the relief efforts. The Hurricanes will offer fans opportunities to make donations at certain concessions in the Lenovo Centre as well. Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman and captain Victor Hedman has pledged 150,000 dollars to the Tampa Police Benevolent Association and the Coast Guard Foundation to benefit those affected by the storm. The Lighting organization have pledged 10,000 dollars to Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay to help low income families with housing. Hurricane Helene had made landfall in Tampa and gone north to Georgia the Carolinas and Tennessee.
